June's goal for ALYoF is finished...

...and it is one of my favorites.
I will have this quilt for sale at the GAAQG quilt show July 26-27.
Proceeds will go to SafeHouse Center in Ann Arbor Michigan.
The quilt measures 58.5" x 81".
It is made with 40 different 30's fabrics and Kona's white PFD.
I used the 30's fabrics to make the scrappy binding.
I quilted an all-over pattern called Plumage from Willow Leaf Studio.

The quilt was designed by my friend Christa as a four week mystery quilt
for our Wednesday night quilting group.
I changed the pattern slightly...I added another row and
used the white for sashing and 30's prints for the corner stones.
You can see Christa's version HERE and see how different they look.
I love them both!!

Christa made three quilts from the 40 different 30's FQ's before
she gave me her leftover scraps...thank you so much Christa!!
You can see the other 2 quilts she made... click HERE
She will have the pattern available for sale shortly...
become a follower
and you won't miss the chance to win a copy of her pattern.
Hop on over and check out Christa's blog.

There were enough scraps for me to make 40 star blocks
plus the scrappy binding for my first quilt.
I have 16 star blocks left to make a second quilt.
It really is an easy and fast block to make.

Now I have a few days to think of my ALYoF goal for July.

I am linking up to Fiber of All Sorts for the June finishing party.

Have a wonderful week everyone!!

  8. Fantastic quilt! I do like the sashing in the background fabric, with just the cornerstones. It makes it so light and airy! Those 40 fat quarters sure did go a long way!
