A garage sale find...and day 3 of Leafs me happy blog hop

I wish I had taken a before picture.
When we brought her home she was in need of a makeover.
DH did a awesome makeover, the dust and the cob webs and  gone
and all moving parts are moving.

Isn't she a beauty!
I am going to have to give her a name and
find the perfect spot for her in my sewing room.

It is a Franklin machine and I will have to do some research on her
when I have some extra time.
I actually wrote this post last night....and at 1:30 a.m.
when I should have been sleeping
I accidentally deleted the post....#%@$&* and went to bed!!

Thank you Barb for thinking of me.....it was a steal for $25.00!!
I luv it...Ü

  1. It's wonderful to see these fabulous machines being saved and used, bet we won't be able to say that about the machines of today, down the road.

  2. What a great find and at a great price! This summer I walked to a neighbor's garage sale and found a treadle machine for sale and bought it even though I had one at home. The one I bought is different and is called a "Two Spool" and actually doesn't use a bobbin but instead a small spool. I have yet to figure it out or try it but it looks nice behind my sofa in the living room with a lamp on the top. I love the sound of treadling, I remember my mom sewing on one when I was a young girl, it is a comforting sound. I really should learn how to use mine and enjoy some nostalic sewing. :) Wishing you a nice day.

  3. Oh so jealous :) been looking for one of those ever since we had a big power outage this summer...they are hard to find around here as we have many Amish in the area! Keep us posted as to how she sews! An old neighbor of mine assured me that using a treadle really makes for beauties of calf muscles, lol!

  4. What a great treadle. Try Treadle On for info on your machine. We're an online people powered sewing machine group. There are so many people there that know so much about all the different machines made. I'm sure someone has info that will be helpful to you.

  11. What a lovely new old machine!!! As Cheryl suggested, there are people on the Treadle On list who could give you more information about her. I got one to use when the power goes off--now I almost never use an electric, which is saying something because I do a lot of piecing and quilting!
