The HO HO HO Blog Hop and a giveaway...

It's my day in the Ho Ho Ho Blog Hop
hosted by Carol at Just Let Me Quilt and Mdm Samm at Sew We Quilt.
THANK YOU ladies ...you are the best!!

Let's get today's HO HO HO parade of Christmas projects started...
be prepared to be inspired...

August 9
Quilt n Queen***this is me***

My HO HO HO projects were made using
Michelle Ridgway's Rag-Tag Stitchin' embroidery designs.
The fabrics I used are Lynette Anderson's by Lecien.
I used a combination of Scandinavian Christmas and Christmas Fun.
Lynette's new Christmas line is called Candy Cane Angel and I luv it too.
It's coming soon to Crazyquiltgirl Fabric Shop.  You can find Christmas Fun
at Crazyquiltgirl Fabric Shop now.

I think this tote bag is as cute as can be....
The pattern is O' Christmas Tree Tote Bag and
the embroidery thread is Presencia 8 wt color no. 1906
The next project is using Michelle's Skates for Hire pattern.
Instead of making the pillow like her pattern
I made a message board...and I luv it.
You can find my tutorial on making a message board on the Moda Bake Shop.
...I do have a snowman hanger some where...I just can not put my hands on it.
As you can see...I just couldn't stop embroidering...
here is a peek of more stitcheries ready to make into more projects.
The fabric for the embroidery background are Moda Muslin Mates,
Falling Snow Muslin and Snowflakes Muslin
and a closeup of Mr Meltin' the Mitten Mender using Aurifil 12 wt #2735
and Mr. Meltin' stitched in red using Aurifil 12 wt no. 2260
Skates for Hire is stitched with Aurifil 12 wt color no 2260.
I stitched 3 of Skates for Hire blocks...I just couldn't stop.
The three blocks on the back of the park bench are also from Rag-Tag Stitchin'.
Michelle made it into a wall hanging, with the blocks stacked on top of each other.
I am making a table runner with the blocks side by side.
The picture is minus the outer boarder....the good news
the outer borders are on now...it's quilting time.
I used 2 strands of Valdani color no. M43 for the table runner.

I'm also working on 2 tea towels...they are traced and partially stitched.
I used the free pattern found on Michelle's blog.
It's called Winter Mate, a free download on her sidebar.

It's been a quilting weekend...

It was a last minute decision to join Wendy at Sugarlane Designs
and 75 quilters for FNSI...
My friend Christa came over
so we could work on a quilt we are making
for Safe House....
this is how it looked Friday about 11 p.m. when she left for home.
I am lovin' it...
It is one of Bonnie Hunter's quilts from her book
String Fling called Zuckerwatte (Cotton Candy).
Bonnie's quilt was made with pink scraps.

Saturday morning Christa and I went to our GAAQG meeting...
after the meeting we had our annual quilters garage sale...
lots of great bargains....I did buy a little fabric...$2.00 to $3.00 per yard.
I didn't need it...I just couldn't pass up some of the great deals.
We were there from about 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and came back to
my house to stitch some more on the Safe House quilt.

Around 2 o'clock DH grilled some burgers for lunch...yummy!!

I called Mamaspark as she wanted me to help wrap a quilt she made for a wedding gift.
I told her how I would wrap it....
...roll it and wrap the 2 pillow cases around the outside
and tuck the ends into the open end to secure the pillow cases and
then tie with ribbon and a bow.
I told her to come over if she needed help.
She prettied it....to gift at a wedding reception last night.
Take a look at it here.  It is beautiful!!

Christa and I stitched and pressed, stitched and pressed some more.

Someone stopped for a cat nap...it wasn't me...we had pizza for dinner and
when Christa left around 11:00 p.m. it looked like this.

This afternoon I am putting a binding on a quilt that
Mamaspark is gifting for another wedding in August.
It is a beauty.
I luv the border...
the whole quilt was beautifully quilted by Liz Bowman, Milan Michigan.

If you missed my Moda Bakeshop recipe this month you should hop on over
and check it out. It's called Cobblestone Path.
Crazyquiltgirl Fabric Shop has the Dessert Rolls available...
...and some Moda Marbles Ombre yardage is coming soon.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday.
The weather in Canton Michigan is perfect today.

Have a wonderful day!!
Happy stitching!!

It's my day to share on the Moda Bakeshop...

...if you have come over from the Moda Bake Shop
THANK YOU for taking the time to visit my blog.

If you are visiting for the first time
take a look around...I hope you enjoy what I have to share with you.

My Cobblestone Path quilt is a fun and fast quilt to make.

I should have the ingredients to make a twin size Cobblestone Path quilt
tested....and posted on my blog in a couple of weeks.

If you make a Cobblestone Path quilt or any of my projects found on my Tutorial page
I would love it if you shared them on my QuiltnQueen Show & Tell flickr group.
My first Moda Bakeshop recipe was a message board made with chalk cloth.
It was part of Moda's Christmas gift series 2012 - Charmed Message Board

Crazyquiltgirl Fabric Shop carries a number of Moda's Dessert Rolls.
Corinna has ordered the Marble Ombre Dots Dessert Rolls and
3 bolts of yardage...the Pink, Lime and Teal.
Moda has shipped them and should arrive in her shop early next week.
If you would like yardage in another color Corinna will be happy to order it.

THANK YOU to everyone for stopping by for a visit.

have a wonderful wonderful day
'till next time, happy stitching!
