The HO HO HO Blog Hop and a giveaway...

It's my day in the Ho Ho Ho Blog Hop
hosted by Carol at Just Let Me Quilt and Mdm Samm at Sew We Quilt.
THANK YOU ladies ...you are the best!!

Let's get today's HO HO HO parade of Christmas projects started...
be prepared to be inspired...

August 9
Quilt n Queen***this is me***

My HO HO HO projects were made using
Michelle Ridgway's Rag-Tag Stitchin' embroidery designs.
The fabrics I used are Lynette Anderson's by Lecien.
I used a combination of Scandinavian Christmas and Christmas Fun.
Lynette's new Christmas line is called Candy Cane Angel and I luv it too.
It's coming soon to Crazyquiltgirl Fabric Shop.  You can find Christmas Fun
at Crazyquiltgirl Fabric Shop now.

I think this tote bag is as cute as can be....
The pattern is O' Christmas Tree Tote Bag and
the embroidery thread is Presencia 8 wt color no. 1906
The next project is using Michelle's Skates for Hire pattern.
Instead of making the pillow like her pattern
I made a message board...and I luv it.
You can find my tutorial on making a message board on the Moda Bake Shop.
...I do have a snowman hanger some where...I just can not put my hands on it.
As you can see...I just couldn't stop embroidering...
here is a peek of more stitcheries ready to make into more projects.
The fabric for the embroidery background are Moda Muslin Mates,
Falling Snow Muslin and Snowflakes Muslin
and a closeup of Mr Meltin' the Mitten Mender using Aurifil 12 wt #2735
and Mr. Meltin' stitched in red using Aurifil 12 wt no. 2260
Skates for Hire is stitched with Aurifil 12 wt color no 2260.
I stitched 3 of Skates for Hire blocks...I just couldn't stop.
The three blocks on the back of the park bench are also from Rag-Tag Stitchin'.
Michelle made it into a wall hanging, with the blocks stacked on top of each other.
I am making a table runner with the blocks side by side.
The picture is minus the outer boarder....the good news
the outer borders are on now...it's quilting time.
I used 2 strands of Valdani color no. M43 for the table runner.

I'm also working on 2 tea towels...they are traced and partially stitched.
I used the free pattern found on Michelle's blog.
It's called Winter Mate, a free download on her sidebar.

If you are still reading my blog, you have made it to the giveaway.

my friend Karen brought it all the way for Australia for me.....

and you can make your own project....pillow, tote, message board???

Tell me what you would make if you won one of the embroidered blocks...
Mr Meltin' the Mitten Mender or Skates for Hire.

Tell me which embroidery block you would  like.

I would love it if you followed me...it is not necessary to win but I would love it if you did.
If you are a follower please tell me how you follow me

  49. Those are all so darling! I especially like the snowman with the mittens mended, cheap. Your embroidery work is just beautiful Pauline!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I love your stitcheries. Snowmen are a favorite character of mine. One can never have enough of them. They make me happy in the winter and give the promise of cooler times in the heat of the summer. Choosing between the Mitten Mender and Skates for Hire is tough as the two represent what I enjoy doing most---sewing, knitting, mending and skating---but I think the Mitten Mender wins out as I wouldn't ever want to be without my skates. :) I would most likely make a wall hanging that I could look at every day all year. Thanks for sharing.

  61. I have always wanted to make a mitten hanger and I think the Mr. Meltin would be the perfect stitchery for it. It is a framed piece and then there are clothespins glued to the bottom to hang up the mittens to dry. I always thought it was so cute. All of your stitcheries turned out wonderful. I follow through GFC.

  62. Again, you never cease to amaze me with your creativity and projects. Your embroidery is amazing. The projects scram Christmas and winter. That's refreshing. The temp sign in front of our Pepsi plant said 155 degrees this week. The news cast just kept going on and on about and emphasizing that it was incorrect. I wasn't out that day and I know it was a hot day here. I always anticipate your project(s). I always come to your site for the binding tutorial. It has the best explanation for finishing the "tail." I've ditched my binding tool. It's for the birds - I never could get it to work. Your tutorial was clear and I never have a problem - even when I'm tired and even when I was frustrated with the tool. Thanks for participating, sharing your creativity, your amazing stitching, your great projects, and your generosity. I already following you through Google. I became a follower through bloglovin'.

It is so wonderful to see someone from overseas using Michelle's patterns...In a recent Winter Mini Swap, a number of us ended up using one of Michelle's snowman stitchery designs for our quilt! At the moment, we buy our patterns directly from Michelle and she is so lovely to deal with...I recently bought 4 of her patterns, so lots of stitchy gifts for family and friends coming up!
