Quilt ‘n Queen...you are here
LynMarie At That Other Blog

I collected my fabrics and searched for clues, inspiration...
to make the perfect project...
...finally it came to me...
...I needed a pillow and a quilt for my car.
so I decided to make
a quilt in a pillow called a quillow.
I started with 1-1/2 yards of the dot fabric for the front...
and 1-1/2 yards of blue scene fabric for the back.
I quilted it as a whole cloth quilt and added the binding.
I centered a 15" x 15" quilted square to the back of the quilt
by sewing the sides and across the top of the square,
leaving the bottom open to create a pocket.
2 pictures of the back of the quilt
Here it is stuffed in it's pocket.
I love how it turned out and it will be a great pillow for my car.
I can use it as a pillow, a quilt...and it will even be great as a picnic blanket.
I hope you have enjoyed my Nancy Drew project.

Thanks for visiting today.
I have a giveaway on my previous post.
Giveaway ends March 16th...
winners will be announced March 18th
after I return from my vacation.
Thursday I am at the AQS Quilt show in Lancaster PA.

Happy stitching

  64. My Grandmother used to make those for us! I can't believe no one thought to call it a Quillow. We called it a Pillow Quilt. She made at least 100 of those things for friends and family. I still have mine. I LOVE your Nancy Drew one, and I know you will get as much use out of it, as I got out of mine!! The best part is when you get to roll it up!
