January finish for ALYoF....

...I am racing against the clock once again.
(a short post as I am heading to bed...)
I don't know why the days and months have to go by so quickly.

I'm excited to have another quilt off my WIP list.
I started this quilt about 8 months ago...so I'm not calling it a UFO.
There is not much snow in our backyard but that is to change tonight.
I hope the weather man is wrong...
we are expecting 6 - 10 inches of snow overnight through Monday.

Tammy 4 all Seasons blog hop...Day 8...edited

welcome to my blog...

It is my day to share my Tammy 4 All Seasons bags.

I have always loved to embroider and when Mdm Samm
announced the Tammy 4 All Seasons blog hop would be cross stitching,
I figured it was the perfect time to learn a new hobby...
Brooke Nolan's fall design was my first attempt at cross stitching.
I made many mistakes from the very beginning.
I did a lot of 'frogging' or unstitching as Mdm Samm calls it
but I kept telling myself...
I can do this!! It's not perfect but I love how it turned out.
I made a sweet pinnie designed by Cori Blunt.
I decided on an embroidery design...
I'm not that great at needle turn applique.
I love how it turned out...
I collected a few of my favorite vintage accessories...
my feather weight sewing machine,
 a vintage crib quilt top
and a vintage pin cushion.
I love the vintage hand made crochet doilies
and my sweet hubby started taking some photos.
The pinnie embroidery design was from a pattern by Sweet-Seams (McCalls).

I reduced the design by 50% and it was the perfect size for the pinnie.
After finishing the first one
I was anxious to start the summer design...
I made a few changes...
two flip flops instead of just the one and no scarf.
I love it too!!!
The inside fabric is a soft grey
with tiny red and white polka dots.
I love the spring and winter designs too...
so I had to start the spring design next....
and this one is giving me grief...big time!!!
I have come to the conclusion I have to go back to kindergarten
and learn to count...I will make it work, just frustrated at the moment.
This is where I am...
I have not started the winter design...that one scares me!!!!
If I could only count...this would be so easy!!

I will stitch the winter design too but only after I finish spring....
I don't want any more UFO's.

Thanks sEw much for visiting...

Tammy 4 All Seasons Blog Hop

Think vintage
and cross stitch...says Mdm Samm
and I immediately knew I wanted to join the blog hop!!
I have never cross stitched but that didn't scare me away.
...I am still stitching...I'm not very fast at it but I will be ready!!
I'm posting on January 20th...
It seems I'm always losing my spot...counting and recounting
....now I'm using a post-it note
and it helps me keep on the right line.
I'm getting faster!!

Cross stitch patterns were designed by Brooke Nolan
and Cori Blunt designed the pinnies to attach to the Tammy bags...
they are SUPER CUTE!!!

Join the talented ladies posting today....cheer them on
and make there heart smile!!

January 2015: Lovely Year of Finishes ~ Goal Setting Party

Thank you Melissa and Shanna for hosting ALYoF for 2015.
My  January 2015 goal setting is to finish this 30's quilt...
it has been a flimsy since July...
It measures 54" x 54"
It may look familar to you as it is similar to
my June 2014 finish for ALYoF...
same block, same 30's fabrics.

This one measures 58.5" x  81"
I do love a 30's quilt!!

Happy New Year and December's ALYoF Finish

Happy New Year ...

I'm hoping 2015 will be a better year!!
Mr. QnQ is doing well...still no decision made about surgery.
He did see the neurologist on the 29th, I stayed in the car as
I didn't want to spread my germs.
After 4 days in bed, I believe I am on the mend!!!

I really didn't think I was going to finish my December goal.
At noon today, I still had not started the quilting.
We had a few errands to run this afternoon,
I had a nap when I got home and didn't feel too bad...
at 11:00 it's a finish!!

 The wall hanging measures 34" x 44"
I quilted it with stippling and added a few paw prints.
Mr QnQ's cousin opened a veterinary clinic this year...
I'll see if they would like it for the clinic.
I love how it turned out.
My goal is to get it in mail to send to Bird Brain Designs on Monday so it
can be included in the Road to California Quilt Show later this month.

Happy stitching!!
