My Mom got me addicted to genealogy. I keep trying to quit, but it just sucks me back in just like all my other addictions. Hmmmmm.....you don't think that could be a personality flaw do you??? LOL
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous, Pauline. What a lovely idea for a pot holder and great use of the embroidery.
ReplyDeleteWhat can I tell you to surprise you? Oh, dear.
How about in keeping with colour theme, I used to be a redhead but over the years have faded to blonde. Or in the Valentine's theme, I was married at 19 and still am to the same man. :)
Congrats on your guest post, too!
Just might surprise you that...... hm.... I love to empty the dishwasher! (Wierd, huh?)
ReplyDeleteIt's difficult... I'm left handed but I write with both hands!!!
ReplyDeleteDifficult to think what would surprise you. Like Karen I got married at 19 and we celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary in July this year. I also have two tattoos!!! You will have to guess where they are! Linda
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial--thanks for sharing! Something that surprises most people is that I have driven and fired a tank.
ReplyDeleteHi Miss Pauline,
ReplyDeleteGo happy to see your teddy bears were invited to join in the fun. (o:
Hugs,
Prudence
When I'm in the ocean, I have an irrational fear of creatures that might be swimming with me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Tut left on Madame Samm's Blog. I am New here to following your Blog. Something about me~ My daughter and her family have lived in China now for 5 years. I am making another trip over there in May for the Birth of our second Granddaughter. I am very Nervous about her having a Baby in China~
ReplyDeleteHave a Great Day!!
Huggs, Nancy
Thanks...Beautiful idea.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo desde COSTA RICA.
PURA VIDA!
thanks for the tut! something surprising~I LOVE HOCKEY! well maybe not so surprising~after all, I was born and raised in the greater Detroit area! lol
ReplyDeleteThank you for the great tut at Madame Samm's. The something unexpected about me, is that I've always wanted to drive an 18 wheeler (I'm only 4 9 1/2). I think my chances are slim. ;-> Toni Anne
ReplyDeleteLove that tea towel. Your stitching is beautiful. Thanks for the great giveaway. Something about myself that you might not know. I am a mom to 4 children. A son and a set of triplets! Two boys and a girl. My husband always wanted 4 kids and I said I only wanted to be pregnant twice. I guess we both got what we wanted!! :)
ReplyDeleteI only began quilting last March! On Sept 11th of this year I will have been married half of my life (OK is now the time I have to admit my age... I will be 36, but I only admit to 26 3/4) I think in this day and age that is an accomplishment!!
ReplyDeleteYour tutorial is wonderful and I have bookmarked it for when I get back to my sewing corner. You see, my surprise is that I live in Nova Scotia, but I am enjoying a vacation in sunny Florida this week. I went to a wonderful quilt shop in Clearwater yesterday and plan on traveling to another today. Who wants to go to a beach when you can go to a quilt shop? Thanks for sharing your great instructions!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I just celebrated our 31st year of marriage! Thanks for the tutorial. My husband says we need new potholders. These are nice because of the pockets.
ReplyDeleteHi Pauline thank you for sharing your pattern with us at Madame Samm's..I cannot wait to make them and I have a friend in mind. I love the fabric in the give-a-way please add me to your pot. Let's see something about myself would be that I have a rose tatoo...never said that one someone's blog before hmmmmmmm....have a great day.
ReplyDeleteWow two chances to win. Thanks
ReplyDeleteYour blog makes me want to retire tomorrow!!!
cathy
What a delightful blog. I'm glad you were featured on SewWeQuilt today!! Speaking of which, such a clever tutorial! I can so see these heart potholders made up in all kinds of fabrics.
ReplyDeleteIn my late late 40's I learned how to ride horses, Western style. Thanks for a chance - off to check out your tut!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tutorial! Something unexpected... I can wiggle my ears.
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute! The first time my husband took me out target shooting (with a .22), I shot through a single string of an old softball that was tangled in a tree and dropped the ball down into a ravine. He was disappointed that I wouldn't listen to his advice...AND he didn't get a chance to show off for me.
ReplyDeleteLove the heart potholders. Thank you for sharing the tutorial to make them!
ReplyDeleteIt might surprise you that I can sing "Are You Sleeping?" in English, French and Afrikaans. ;o)
Unlike a lot of quilters that I've shared musical stories with, I listen to the Rolling Stones when I quilt. Nothing gets the hands a movin' and the tension out of my shoulders like a little "Sa-tis-fac-tion."
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice potholders and thanks for all the inspiration and ofcourse the give-away.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, something about me that may surprise you. I have about 50 bantam Silkie chicks in large plastic storage bins living in my master bedroom walk in closet.
ReplyDeleteHmmm something you don't know about me? I used to be a stripper in my past life!
ReplyDeleteI love the potholders! And I'd love to win the charm pack! Something about me? I love the smell of skunks, and this is their mating season when they're roadkill all over the place. No one in my family believes me...but it's true. I've always loved skunks! LOL!
ReplyDeleteSomething that would surprise you....I am currently leading my fantasy basketball league! LOL Seriously, I am. :) Thanks for an awesome tut on Sew We Quilt, and thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteSomething that would surprise you. On our 3rd baby Jared My wife told me she would not have another baby unless I stayed home and took care of it. So I got a Job in St Louis (I live in Salt Lake City UT) that I could work from home and the deal I gave them for the cheaper rate I charged is that baby was first they were second. I also changed almost all the diapers (yes I'm a guy). http://jared.richardhealey.com look how well the baby fit between my key board and monitor. Oh I am a programmer by way. Oh ya one more tidbit Wife pregnant with a new baby 7 years later and my 16 year old son will have a baby sister. Don't remind me how old ill be when she graduates from high school ick.

Stop by for my quilt givaway to guess my babys b-day and weight.
Something about myself--so far I've only made a pillow. I'd like to learn to sew, so I can make little quilts
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tutorial and giveaway. I have been married to the same wonderful man for 46 years.
ReplyDeleteJanet
Great potholders! Thank you
ReplyDeleteSomething about me? Two of my toes are webbed - it freaks my children out!!
About me: I do allllll different types of crafts. I sew, do paper crafts, am getting into mixed media, etc.
ReplyDeleteThat was a wonderful tutorial Pauline! I see some heart potholders in my future! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh Pauline, I just loved your tut at Sew We Quilt. Love the pot holders but your redwork always blows me away!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great tutorial and giveaway! Something about me.....I love internet games!
ReplyDeleteLove the potholders, last year I made a potholder for every holiday and sent them to my daughters.
ReplyDeleteThese potholders are charming. I can't wait to make a pair! Something about myself... I have three middle names. :)
ReplyDeleteMuchas gracias por tutorial.es practico y muy bonito.
ReplyDeleteun abrazo...
Love the pot holders, pinned the tutorial so I will remember to make them sometime in the future! I have bought from Cori a couple of times, just received an order last week, she is very quick at getting your order out. Something most people do not know is that I grew up in farm country Indiana and never learned to swim. Have lived in Michigan surrounded by water for over 30 years and have two daughters that swam on the high school swim team, still do not know how to swim. But the second thing is that I love the lakes and the ocean, love to sit on the beach, live for the days I can.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the pattern. I love it. I am a grandmother of 3 mother of 2 and I love to create. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteThese potholders are so cute! My list of things I want to make just keeps getting longer! ! ! Something about myself, OK, I spent 15 years volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America. That's 5 more than my son so far! He may get involved again when he has kids but so far I have him beat.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the "Hot" tutorial at sew we quilt today. The tea towel redwork is gorgeous. Please put my name in the hat for the drawing.
ReplyDeleteWonderful tutorial. Thanks for the giveaway! I forgot to tell you something about myself - I love cows (real ones!)
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial Pauline. I've never made any pot holders before. Another project to add to my 'to do' list! Something to surprise you! Many years ago when I was young and stupid, I did a Bungy Jump!
ReplyDeleteAs a teenager, I always put in zippers for my mom and she always hemmed my creations. Now I never sew clothes and
ReplyDelete(the post went off without me....) I prefer to make quilts and crafts.
ReplyDeleteThanks for offering another giveaway opportunity. Something about me? Well I have constantly cold feet from Oct through April and so I wear 2 pairs of socks and have my feet in slippers while home every day.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful...your work is fantastic! I hope you had a great Valentine day!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy making potholders. They can be little quilts.
ReplyDeleteI love this project and I think I have all the supplies I need to make it! I desperately need new potholders.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture detail on making these potholders. I love your emboidery,
ReplyDeleteThe first thing I ever sewed was a pot holder. I was four years old.
ReplyDeleteGreeting from Malaysia! I'm the only one in my family loves sewing and quilting. I self learn from inspritation blogs and YouTube.
ReplyDeleteI hopped over here from Sew We Quilt and really appreciate your tutorial. Something about me? I played first chair clarinet in my high school band.
ReplyDeleteI have just made 2 heart potholders for friends. Then I thought how awesome it would be to make them with pockets. Thanks so much for the tutorial the timing is perfect!! Reba
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tute. I've always wanted to make these potholders. I'm a triplet. I sew quilts, one sister sews garments, one sister doesn't know how to operate a sewing machine.
ReplyDeleteSo excited to do these pot holders for gifts. I'm just getting my sewing room organized after a big move from Hawaii to Washington. Mahalo.
ReplyDeleteTerrific tutorial! Looks so easy and is so cute! Would love to win your fabric! I could "heart" my neighborhood! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI love the potholder. So adorable!! I plan to make some of these as soon as I get the insulibrite. I think I just butchered that word. LOL
ReplyDeleteI love these potholders. I need some new ones as my current double potholder is looking pretty had-it these days. Thanks for the tutorial.
ReplyDeleteGreat potholders! I will have to make some of these for my girls. Hereis something about me - I like to fly with my husband while he does.aerobatics. Truth be told though I only like loops and rolls. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe potholders would make great gifts. After many years of sewing & quilting, I don't think I've ever made a potholder!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy making cute little items for my sister as she doesn't sew and loves everything I make. These pot holders are just perfect! And I am sure I can find time in my busy life to make a couple for her birthday in a couple of weeks. Thanks for the project. Linda in Central VA
ReplyDeleteSuch cute items-the potholders are so neat!
ReplyDeleteAbout me: Love digging in the dirt in my garden!!!
