I bought some of the red pinwheel fabric from Moda's mama said SEW by Sweetwater. I thought the fabric was perfect...I struggled with the back too and changed my mind and ended with this...
The quilt measures approximately 52" x 52". I used 2 charm packs of Moda's Fairy Tale Friends designed by Sandy Klop for American Jane and 2 charm packs of porcelain #9900-182. The back is a Bella solid...called Bettys Teal #9900-126, I added some of the the extra charms and a remnant of Moda's Pezzy by Sandy Klop. It all matched perfect and I love how it all came together...another ufo finished!!
If you would like to make this quilt...Crazyquiltgirl Fabric Shop has the Fairy Tale Friends charm packs and the Honeysweet charm packs that I used on the quilt featured on the Moda Bake Shop. Corinna also has the Buttermilk Basin Halloween pattern in stock. It was one of my Wicked Blog Hop projects and that was fun to make too.

I love the pattern. My quilts are done for Christmas, but I still have the binding on them to do. One finished, and four more to go. I also have some socks to finish knitting by Christmas. Thanks for the giveaway.

Hi Pauline, I found you through the Moda Bake shop, I love the quilt you designed in both colour ways, thanks so much for sharing, I will pop in again to visit.... of course I will be sewing up to the bitter end, my husband has banned me from making Christmas gifts because he knows I will still be putting in some last minute stitches late Christmas Eve.... I don't listen to him though....;)

ReplyDeleteI don't usually do hand made Christmas gifts; I don't have time to make *everyone* something, & if people get left out, there are hurt feelings. So, I'll just be going at my usual pace & not stressing over having a hand made holiday

As for Christmas, I have many things yet to create, but I have a new granddaughter who is to arrive 5 days before Christmas. So her special quilt will come first. ReplyDeleteI just want to tell you how much I like this quilt. I save most all the MBS patterns and some I print when I am serious to make it. I have printed your pattern and I have put this quilt in my Favorites to remind myself to make this as soon as we are settled. We are moving and it has been hard. The older I get the harder it is and we know for sure we will be moving next year at this time because the house we rented (I have 20 chickens and no one will rent to us because) is on a hill with lots of stairs. I will probably rehome the girls. I have decided I want a nicer place to be settled where I can sew. But, I will make this quilt next year. I have these charm packs and many more. I want to say thank you to you! I love this pattern.
