I was featured at Rag Tag Stitchin' and a Giveaway

Thank you sooo much, Michelle,
for sharing my quilty creations on your blog.
I am thrilled...you made my heart sing!!
I love your designs and I am always thinking
of different projects to make with them.
(If you are a follower of my blog
you may have seen these pictures in past posts...sorry for the repeats.)

Michelle Ridgway is an Australian designer.
She draws some pretty awesome embroidery designs.
Please stop by her blog at...Rag-tag Stitchin' and say Hi!!
(she is on vacation now but I know she would love it if you left her a comment)
Michelle has some free designs on her side bar and
patterns for sale on her blog too.
I have used many of her designs to make tea towels.
I enlarged this sweet angel and it was perfect for a tea towel.
The design is one of her free one's!!
...I am always working on a few more tea towels...
they make the cutest little gifts.

Michelle's patterns are now available for sale in the USA.
My friend Corinna has 14 of Michelle's patterns/booklets
Hop on over and see some of Michelle's patterns/booklets.
The tea towels are also available at Crazy Quilt Girl Fabric Shop.
I used the Aunt Martha's Vintage brand.

A little stitching with Michelle Ridgway patterns...

...a wee peek at a new project I have been working on.
The embroidery is finished...now on to choosing fabrics.
I'm looking forward to finishing this...
I have quite a few patterns by Michelle Ridgway.
I talked about them here and now
some of Michelle's patterns are available at
Crazyquiltgirl Fabric Shop ...there will be more to choose from soon.

Another project I started piecing this month
is a donation quilt for Safe House in Ann Arbor MI.
The tumbler blocks were already cut...not my color or fabric choices...
I volunteered to sew them into a quilt top.
The tumblers were cut, packaged in a pie box...tied with a bow
and ready to stitch...I couldn't resist.
Our next guild meeting in March 8th
I hope to have it quilted and bound by then.

Something else I've been working on...
...have you seen these scrubbies or used them?
...they are long strips of tulling/netting crocheted into a circle
and then stuffed with more netting.
They are great for cleaning Teflon and glass top ranges.
I use them to scrub the tile in my bathroom.
They are the best pot scrubbers!!
I've just started crocheting them and it has taken a few tries
to get them looking pretty good.
These are the first two...I'm working on a turquoise one now.
The next one will be purple...luv all the colors that are available.
I even put them in the dish washer...they last a long time.

I'm linking up to Cat Patches linky party
and  Such a Sew and Sew's linky party
and crazy mom quilts' linky party
and Confessions of a Fabric Addict's linky party.

Have a wonderful weekend!!
Happy stitching

November Goal...A Lovely Year of Finishes..

I've been thinking about this for a few days now...
I have 2 more projects I would like to finish in November
one is an embroidery project
using a Bird Brain Design pattern
designed by Robin Kingsley.
I found it in a book called little birds.
There are 26 handmade bird projects to sew, stitch, and quilt.
You can buy the book at Bird Brain Designs.
The other one is a project I started in July
and since August it remains unfinished.
It is a Rag-Tag Stitchin' pattern designed by Michelle Ridgway.
It will be a perfect finish for the holidays.
I'm making mine into a table runner,
Michelle's pattern has it as a wall hanging...luv it too.

OK decision is made...my project for 'A Lovely Year of Finishes'
for November is the table runner.

The HO HO HO Blog Hop and a giveaway...

It's my day in the Ho Ho Ho Blog Hop
hosted by Carol at Just Let Me Quilt and Mdm Samm at Sew We Quilt.
THANK YOU ladies ...you are the best!!

Let's get today's HO HO HO parade of Christmas projects started...
be prepared to be inspired...

August 9
Quilt n Queen***this is me***

My HO HO HO projects were made using
Michelle Ridgway's Rag-Tag Stitchin' embroidery designs.
The fabrics I used are Lynette Anderson's by Lecien.
I used a combination of Scandinavian Christmas and Christmas Fun.
Lynette's new Christmas line is called Candy Cane Angel and I luv it too.
It's coming soon to Crazyquiltgirl Fabric Shop.  You can find Christmas Fun
at Crazyquiltgirl Fabric Shop now.

I think this tote bag is as cute as can be....
The pattern is O' Christmas Tree Tote Bag and
the embroidery thread is Presencia 8 wt color no. 1906
The next project is using Michelle's Skates for Hire pattern.
Instead of making the pillow like her pattern
I made a message board...and I luv it.
You can find my tutorial on making a message board on the Moda Bake Shop.
...I do have a snowman hanger some where...I just can not put my hands on it.
As you can see...I just couldn't stop embroidering...
here is a peek of more stitcheries ready to make into more projects.
The fabric for the embroidery background are Moda Muslin Mates,
Falling Snow Muslin and Snowflakes Muslin
and a closeup of Mr Meltin' the Mitten Mender using Aurifil 12 wt #2735
and Mr. Meltin' stitched in red using Aurifil 12 wt no. 2260
Skates for Hire is stitched with Aurifil 12 wt color no 2260.
I stitched 3 of Skates for Hire blocks...I just couldn't stop.
The three blocks on the back of the park bench are also from Rag-Tag Stitchin'.
Michelle made it into a wall hanging, with the blocks stacked on top of each other.
I am making a table runner with the blocks side by side.
The picture is minus the outer boarder....the good news
the outer borders are on now...it's quilting time.
I used 2 strands of Valdani color no. M43 for the table runner.

I'm also working on 2 tea towels...they are traced and partially stitched.
I used the free pattern found on Michelle's blog.
It's called Winter Mate, a free download on her sidebar.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you are still reading my blog, you have made it to the giveaway.
One comment please...
I really don't want to part with my pattern...
my friend Karen brought it all the way for Australia for me.....
so, I'll do the embroidery...
and you can make your own project....pillow, tote, message board???
Tell me what you would make if you won one of the embroidered blocks...
 Mr Meltin' the Mitten Mender or Skates for Hire.
Tell me which embroidery block you would  like.
I would love it if you followed me...it is not necessary to win but I would love it if you did.
If you are a follower please tell me how you follow me
...just curious...by GFC, email, Bloglovin, Feedly?
I will pick 2 winners on Friday August 16th.
